We’ve all heard it before: “Live your best life!” Whether it’s on social media with someone flashing their perfect vacation or diving into a new hobby, the idea of “living your best life” is often linked to chasing excitement, success, or the next big thing. But what if I told you that your "best" life can’t be found in a trend or an exotic getaway? Instead, it’s found in Jesus Christ. Yep, the One who offers not just life but abundant life (John 10:10).
So, how do we live our best life in Christ? Here are three powerful reasons why going all in with Jesus is the ultimate way to live fully, freely, and joyfully.
1. Jesus Is the Key to True Fulfillment
Have you ever reached a goal you thought would complete you—maybe it was landing that dream job, buying a new house, or hitting a significant milestone—only to find that it still left you feeling… meh? Yeah, me too. The world has a way of convincing us that fulfillment comes from external success or material things, but those never quite hit the mark, do they?
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus gives us the cheat code to a truly fulfilling life: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Living your best life isn’t about collecting “things” but aligning your heart with God’s kingdom. When you seek God first, the other pieces fall into place because you’re living for a higher purpose.
Here’s the good news: When your fulfillment is anchored in Christ, it doesn’t depend on how well your job is going, how much money is in your bank account, or how many followers you have on Instagram. It’s a fulfillment that runs deep and stays steady, no matter the circumstances.
Funny Truth: Have you ever noticed how the more you try to "fill" your life with stuff, the more storage you need? It's like those self-storage commercials—except this time, you're filling up on Jesus, and no extra garage space required.
2. In Christ, You Find Unshakable Peace and Joy
We live in a world where anxiety seems to have made itself comfortable. Let's be honest—there’s always something to worry about, right? From global news to personal struggles, peace can seem elusive. But here’s where Jesus flips the script. In John 14:27, He says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
When you’re living your best life in Christ, you’re living in His peace—a peace that’s not dependent on the external chaos of the world but is rooted in the security of knowing He’s got you. It’s the kind of peace that makes no sense to others, but it holds you together when things are falling apart.
And let’s talk about joy for a second. I’m not talking about the fleeting kind that comes when everything is going perfectly (because, let’s face it, when is everything ever perfect?). I’m talking about a joy that springs up even on the hard days. Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us, "The joy of the Lord is your strength.” In Christ, your joy doesn’t depend on how good life is but on how good God is.
Encouraging Quote: “True joy is not the absence of problems, but the presence of God.” So even when your life looks less like a Pinterest board and more like a mess, you can still have joy because God is in it with you.
3. You Have a Purpose, and Jesus Helps You Walk in It
Here’s a reality check: You weren’t created just to get by. You weren’t put on this earth just to punch a clock, pay bills, and binge-watch Netflix (though, no judgment if you do that sometimes). God has given you a unique purpose; living your best life in Christ means boldly walking in that purpose.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." In other words, you’ve got divine assignments—things only you can do, people only you can reach, and gifts only you can use for the Kingdom. And when you live for Jesus, He leads you into that purpose one step at a time.
By the way, you don’t have to have it all figured out. (If you do, please let the rest of us in on the secret!) The beautiful thing about living in Christ is that He walks with you through every decision, every challenge, and every victory, showing you what your purpose looks like in every season.
Inspiring Thought: “You are not here by accident; you are here on purpose, for a purpose. And Jesus is the guide who helps you unlock it.”
Ready to Live Your Best Life in Christ?
So, what’s the takeaway? Living your best life doesn’t come from the outside in—it comes from the inside out through a relationship with Jesus Christ. He’s your source of fulfillment, peace in the storm, and guide to purpose.
Here’s the thing: Life won’t always be easy, but with Jesus, it will always be worth it. He has more for you than you can imagine, and all you have to do is say “yes” to His abundant life.
